# 27 – Favorite YouTube Videos this Week

16192700034_8ef7c9d362_z#FridayFunDay is finally upon us.  I decided to make it light and share with you some of my favorite YouTube videos.  Some are oldies but goodies (so sorry if you have seen these before).  Warning – there is some bad language so be careful if kiddos are around!

#1 Matt Bellassai – Types of Co-Workers That are the Absolute Worst

This is an older video, as Matt has now moved on to different #TBH videos, but this is one of my fav.

#2 Joe Santagato – Mad Libs Madness Pt 5

First, I love all of Joe Santagato video’s, but I especially love the ones with his brothers.  I love how they interact and hope my boys have the same rapport.  Also, it’s just another reminder that boys never stop talking about farts, butts, and bodily functions as they get older.

# 3 Adam Ray: Skype Video Lessons

Just because I love Adam Ray…just sayin’

#4 Missy Elliott – WTF (Where They From) @_TriciaMiranda Choreography – Filmed by @TimMilgram

Because I have probably watched this 20 times…all the dancers are awesome, but those kids are so fun to watch!

#5 Jimmy Fallon #WorstDates

Have a link to your favorite video….would love to see it!

If you’ve made it to the end…cheers!

# 26 – #BetterPersonChallenge 4/27

# 26 – #BetterPersonChallenge 4/27

This challenge to become a Better Person is not saying you are an awful person by any means, it’s just something to try to do in your busy, crazy days to make you and possibly someone else just a little happier.

Happiness is the Goal!!

This week’s Challenge – Keep in Touch with your Friends

Happy people know how their friends are doing.  This year I have made a goal that I want to be a better friend.  We are all busy with our own families, work, life….but I’m trying to make an extra effort to check in more often.  I love my friends and I don’t like that I cannot find time to only see them a few times a year.  I have friends that live states away and though I can’t see them as often, I need to call or text and just let them know “I’m thinking of you”.

I keep a small circle of really good friends….I love them and want them to always know that.  They are pretty much my family at this point (they become that way by default with how many years we’ve been friends..lol).  Even if I haven’t known them for half my life, they’re very special people that have been there through tough times and don’t leave!

So tell me…how often do you speak with your friends.  How do you keep in touch…by phone, social media, text…whatever it may be…I would love to hear about it.  Do you have traditions of getting together?  Monthly meet-ups?  Or how you plan to put this challenge into action!

Good Luck!  Have a Happy and Joyful Week!

# 25 – I Can Take a Joke

# 25 – I Can Take a Joke

So we thankfully we got through another Monday!  High fives all around!  However, it means Tuesday is right around the corner.  I hate Tuesdays…just do, I feel like they are a day in the week that should be bypassed.  Even though I hate rushing my days/weeks…I still hate Tuesday.

So what’s up with my title?  I got dressed this morning and picked out a new shirt I bought online and thought to myself…I kinda look like a bathroom rug.  I was wondering how many comments I would get at work joking about it or maybe just thinking it in their head.

shirt rug

So at lunch today, at a lull in our conversation, I asked “Do I remind you of a rug?”.  Laughter exploded and I said “I knew you all were thinking it!!”  “Well now that you mention it…” is the reply I received.  All I can do is laugh…it is funny!  The funnier thing is that when I picked up the kids at school today, the first thing the counselor said to me was “I really like your shirt”.  Was she being nice?  Did she really like it?  My crazy mind!

Hey, anything to get through a Monday right!?  I can take a joke!

That is exactly what I am thankful for this Monday…I can laugh at myself and not take life too seriously all the time.  (and yes, I am still playing with Snapchat).  Or maybe this is a reaction from having trauma in life…you become a little nuts…either way, I make myself laugh!

Hope you got to smile today and have a good laugh!

If we were having coffee, I would be snuggled up on my couch with my favorite blanket and a freshly brewed cup of coffee, with a sprinkle of cinnamon.  I would tell you how thankful I am that the work week is over and there was no rush to go anyway on Saturday…in fact we all stayed in pajamas ALL day (and loved it!).

This was a busy work week, as well as, a busy “after” work week.  Several doctor appointments and religion class for the big kiddo had us running around.  But I have to tell you, I made my meal plan for the week on the previous Saturday and I made dinner every night (that we were home – cheated a little with eating over my mother-in-law’s house one night).  So I sat down yesterday and checked my planner for what was going on this week and planned dinner for each night, while making out a grocery list at the same time.  Why I haven’t done this all along is really beyond me or I’m just lazy and tired!

Being that this was a challenging week at work, I have to tell you…I have the best co-workers/friends!  They really make the day much better!  I even got a lesson on Snapchat (that’s when I feel old btw, the young ones had to teach me how to use an app…ugh!)  I bet all my friends are so much happier now that I know how to use it…IMG_7474

I would also tell you that today is my brother-in-law’s birthday…Big shout out to the old man!  (LOL we will see if he reads this!)  I am also going to be attending my cousin’s daughter’s baptism today and excited to see some family!

Then when I get home, it will begin to be the case of the S’Monday’s.  Getting the kids and myself ready for work and school.  At least Thursday is Take Your Child to Work Day so the big kiddo will be joining me for the workday and he is super excited!!

But for now, before the day begins, I will enjoy my coffee and the little bit of free time I have left in the morning!

I hope you had a good week and have a great Sunday!

# 23 – Are you Happy?

# 23 – Are you Happy?

Can you not be happy without feeling sad?

I was thinking about this the other day…okay maybe a lot lately.  Many people are not sad if you ask them how they are, but are they actually “happy”?

I am in somewhat of a rut.  Things are going fine in general, but I can’t help to think “there’s got to be a better way”.  I know I am not alone in this feeling either.  I have had discussions with multiple friends about this topic, yet we never really get to an answer.  It’s usually a heavy sigh and off to work we go.

What do you feel deep down in your soul that would make you the happiest?  Yes, we all need money and benefits….believe me this is my biggest problem.  I love my job…that’s not my complaint.  I just feel like there is something missing…a passion, I guess you could say.

In a perfect world…what the heck would I want to do, accomplish, excel in??  It’s nothing even something that I would hope where I would make millions and quit my job (but if that happened…score!).  Something on the side that fulfills something I feel like I am missing to complete my happiness.

Here’s a whole different topic to make your minds swirl….  Do I feel an emptiness due to the loss of my husband?  There’s a piece of my heart that will forever be broken.  But marriage is something I am definitely not looking for.  This could be a whole different blog topic, but I often wonder lately “what is the point”.

I’m not against dating, but why bother going through the whole act of marriage?  I don’t regret marrying my husband, but would i want to go through it all again with someone new???

As I said, this is a whole different topic, but I’m throwing it out there.  It’s been something I’ve been noticing more and more articles about and feel like I’m leaning more towards this feeling of not needing that piece of paper.

But as for now, from one of my favorite meme’s I’ve been single for a while and I have to say it’s going very well.  Like…It’s working out.  I think I’m the one”.

So I will continue to try to find that “passion” and figure out what I feel like I’m missing.  It will come to me one day as a light bulb moment I’m sure!

# 22 – Fighting the Fog & Wednesday Challenge!

# 22 – Fighting the Fog & Wednesday Challenge!

16670943253_0e9f496f79_zEver try to get through the day and you walk room to room trying to figure out what you were trying to do?

I’ve been having those days lately.  Not really sure I can pinpoint it, but it’s like there is a heavy fog that just sits in the air all morning.  I’m trying to walk through the fog to see where I am going…but it’s always just blurry.

“They” say our bodies change every 7-10 years.  A little bit of googling determines this may not be completely true….but let’s say it is, just for fun.  I can definitely say I am a different person than I was 7 years ago.  Not only by the standards of what “they” say in that your cells change, but probably in every way.

Seven years ago, I was 30.  I was having a hard time leaving my 20’s, I was married for 5 years, about to have my second son…looking back I feel like it was a lot for a 30 year old.  Little did I know, my entire life would take a dramatic turn almost 2 years later.  I was always an independent person…couldn’t wait to grow up (what was the rush?? I could never tell you), get married, have children….and you know “have the perfect life”.

“The perfect life” did not happen, marriage is not like how it is in the movies, and definitely didn’t imagine being a widow at 32 with two kids.  Well you know what…my life was written this way for a reason.  I haven’t figured it out yet, not even a little, but one day I may have an answer.

So let’s get out of the fog together…

I decided to make a Challenge for myself for becoming a better person and I will announce it every Wednesday what steps I am taking.  Not saying we are horrible people, but maybe if we are ever down on ourselves or I usually say there is always room for improvement, perhaps these “challenges” will assist our well-being, moods, and happiness.

Please join along and share your experiences as well.  P.S.  You may want to check out my Instagram as well….just sayin’!

Wednesday Challenge # 1:  Give myself a Compliment every morning.

Start off the day with positivity instead of saying how the circles under my eyes are getting darker and darker. Pick anything….”My eyebrows are on fleek!”  I know…I totally used a 20’s something word as a 30’s something person….but I love to do that…the looks I get are great!  My friends get it! LOL

Go ahead and try it…I dare you!  How have you complimented yourself today?

Let’s get out of the fog!

# 21 -The Positives of Monday

# 21 -The Positives of Monday

Well we got through another Monday…yay us!  But since Monday is coming to an end, lets think of some good things that happened today instead of being a Debbie Downer.

  • I got a decent parking spot at work today.
  • My friend picked up a beautiful terrarium for me over the weekend and I just love looking at it on my desk! Also it was pretty funny when my boss said my desk is like “Welcome to the Jungle”.
  • Got to catch up with a friend over lunch…always a story with a good laugh!
  • I brought in my own Chemex to work, along with DD coffee, creamer, and a pretty mug…..yummy afternoon coffee at last!
  • Sending funny texts to my friend during work..just to make her day a little brighter.
  • Being able to complain about EVERYTHING to another friend and her always being okay with it and offering advice!
  • Completed signing kiddos up for Summer Camp.
  • Planned out my schedule for the summer (for the most part).
  • It was 80 degrees outside today…I enjoyed maybe an hour of it, but it was a great hour!
  • Listened to a great podcast on the way home regarding marriage and how millennials are starting to not believe in marriage.  As in “What’s the point?”  Always love to hear different perspectives.
  • The kids ACTUALLY liked the dinner I made tonight!

Now getting ready for Tuesday….classes begin tomorrow…everyone keep your fingers crossed for me….I CAN DO THIS!

P.S.  I have the best friends….just sayin’

Hope you guys had some good out of your Monday! #mondayfunday (full disclosure….I actually looked up this hashtag to see if anyone has every used it…just doesn’t seem to fit together as well as #mcm!
